18th Successful Coordination & Organization of Nanotechnology 2021 Event (Virtual & Live) at Thessaloniki

NANOTEXNOLOGY 2021

2021 was the 18thconsecutive year that NANOTECHNOLOGY 2021 took place with great success.
Under this multi - events everal International Scientific, Technological land Business Events on Nanotechnologies, Flexible Organic Electronics and Nanomedics took place from the 3rd till the 10th of July and were organized both with physical and virtual presentations at the Porto Palace Conference Center at Thessaloniki.

Several important people were present at the event like, internationally recognized scientists, politicians and representatives of related associations, that shape up the financial and political actions in Greece, experienced specialists from business sector, young scientists and startuppers participated in several meetings and networking events that took place in parallel with the Congress and the Exhibition.

2021 inanational effort and opportunity for the promotion and utilization of new Technologies, Innovation & Business which is organized annually at Thessaloniki.

Details:

  • NN21 contained 227 presentations from 38 countries
  • ISFOE21 contained 132 presentations from 32 countries
  • I3D21 contained 120 presentations from 27 countries
  • At ISSON21 participated 45 students from 25 countries, with 29 Poster presentations
  • At EXPONANOTEXNOLOGY participated more than 20 exhibitors
  • Matchmaking event hosted 46 meetings

The goal of the Event was binary: Contacting researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs related with the field of Nanotechnologies, worldwide, and promote the recent innovations that are created in this sector.

The opening of the event of NANOTEXNOLOGY 2021 was made by the representative of the Prime Minister of the Greek Government, Deputy Minister of Digital Policy George Stylios, while the work of the Conference was greeted by the Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Nikolaos G. Papaioannou and the Rector of the Faculty Professor Theodoros Theodoulidis.

Speakers at the main event of the Conference were three world-class scientists who analyzed the rapid scientific developments that change our daily lives:

  • Dr Nello Li Pira from the FIAT Research Center, spoke about the developments in the automotive industry,
  • Eugenia Kumacheva, professor at the University of Toronto, referred to the new material on "Filling the Void Between Molecules and Nanoparticles"
  • And Professor George Malliaras from the University of Cambridge spoke about Bioelectronics and the treatment of serious brain diseases.

The main event of NANOTEXNOLOGY 2021 was attended by, among others, the Deputy Regional Governor of Central Macedonia Costas Gioutikas, the Rector of PDM Theodoros Theodoulidis, the Vice Rector of AUTh Charalambos Feidas and the Deputy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Kostas Michailidis.
The Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Christos Dimas, started the two workshops on green energy, hydrogen and nanotechnology applications in greenhouses.

The Greek "smart" bus stop, the innovative energy and lighting systems for large and smaller surfaces with new type light, flexible and environmentally friendly photovoltaics made in our country won the impressions of the representatives of the Government, such as the deputies of New Democracy of Thessaloniki Dimitris Kouvelas and Stratos Simopoulos, the Deputy Regional Governors of Central Macedonia Costas Gioutikas and Angelos Charisteas, the Mayor of Neapolis Sykeon Simos Daniilidis, who visited the Exhibition as well as many businessmen from the area of Thessaloniki.

As the Mayor of Thessaloniki characteristically emphasized, "the digital transformation that is completed with the Cisco Innovation Hub, the Center for Innovative Applications that is made for the benefit of all of us" is extremely important, while he stated impressed, saying that "we are lucky to have the Laboratory of Nanotechnology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Professor Stergios Logothetidis with his collaborators who create these products".
