NANOTEXNOLOGY 2019 concluded successfully on the 6th of July 2018, after an exciting week of innovative scientific, technological, business and networking parallel events. Nanotechnology Lab LTFN, together with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Nano|Net Research and Innovation Network, HOPE-A and the Horizon 2020 Projects, Smartline and CORNET co-organized this year’s multi-event. Thank you for visiting our booth and meeting us and our activities!
This year NANOTEXNOLOGY 2019 comprised more than 650 exciting presentations from 56 Countries providing an overview of the latest advances and future prospects in Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics & Photonics, 3D Printing & Bioprinting, and Nanomedicine.
The starting point of this year’s NANOTEXNOLOGY were the ISSON19 Summer Schools commenced on Saturday 29th of June. ISSON19 comprised fascinating lectures and demonstrations of state-of-the-art techniques on Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics and Nanomedicine gathering more than 110 students from 25 different countries and 60 poster presentations!
Coming next, ISFOE19, the International Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics started on Monday 1st of July consisting of more than 150 presentations from 32 different countries, to be followed by NN19, the International Conference on Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies, which began on Tuesday 2nd of July encompassing 380 presentations from 50 different countries. During the same day, the I3D19 - Workshop on 3D Printing, 3D Bioprinting, Digital, and Additive Manufacturing commenced, gathering 120 presentations from 25 countries.
During the fourth day of NANOTEXNOLOGY, inspiring Plenary talks were delivered by three world-class experts, Prof. M. Leclerc from Laval University, Canada, Prof. S. Pantelides from Vanderbilt University, USA, and Prof. Nicholas Peppas from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. The Plenary Session attendants were informed on the recent advances in the preparation of less toxic and expensive conjugated polymers and their utilization in plastic solar cells, design & study of novel 2D dimensional materials and the recent accomplishments on the engineering of intelligent, recognitive nanoscale systems for Advanced Therapeutic Agent Targeting & Delivery.
Also, a greeting was given by the newly elected rector of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Prof. Nikolaos Papaioannou, congratulating the organization and the polythematic index of the NANOTEXNOLOGY multi-event, while expressed his support to these actions.
This year 7 new parallel Special Workshops enriched NANOTEXNOLOGY’s program with more than 130 presentations.
In the workshop on Open Innovation and Standardization for materials characterization, materials modeling and materials process and manufacturing, Projects’ Coordinators and Participants gave an overview of the combined efforts that take place to promote and progress in the state-of-the-art Scientific and Research fields of Nanotechnology and Organic Electronics through the adoption of an Open Innovation environment which is an open framework process that can accelerate innovation through collaboration between expert stakeholders from academic, research and industrial communities.
Also, Representatives from EU funded R&D Projects participated in the workshop on EU projects, by presenting their latest advances and outcomes of their R&D activities and provided the attendants with new information in European and International level in Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics, and Nanomedicine.
In the Special Workshop Women in Nano Science & Technology, women in research delivered remarkable presentations presented their work with the target to highlight and advance the role and recognition of women working in cutting edge fields of Nano Science and Technology.
In the Workshop on In-line & Real-time Metrology and Quality Control for Nano-Manufacturing, presenters revealed the huge potentiality of in-line and real-time metrology methods (tools, measurement/analysis methodologies, protocols, integration concepts) to revolutionize the digital manufacturing of advanced materials, devices, components, processes and products based on Organic & Printed Electronics.
On Thursday 4th of July 2019, an agreement between the Nanotechnology Lab LTFN of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) of Istanbul, Turkey was signed bringing forward the cooperation between the two organizations.
On the same day, the annual Nano|Net General Assembly took place, where partners and also new members of this special network were gathered and had discussions on the related activities, communication policies and collaborations between research and business organizations involved in the fields of Nano-Bio-Technologies.
Parallel to the Conferences and the Summer Schools, EXPO19, the 9th International Exhibition on Nanotechnologies, Organic Electronics & Nanomedicine gathered more than 40 exhibitors, creating a vibrant environment of business interactions, together with the Matchmaking Event, which comprised more than 150 bilateral meetings, and the Business Forum with presentations from companies' representatives.
Thank you for your contribution to this exciting multi-event! We wish your participation in NANOTEXNOLOGY 2019 brought you fruitful discussions, networking and stimuli!
The annual Nano|Net General Assembly was realized on 4th of July 4 2019 at Porto Palace Conference Centre & Hotel in Thessaloniki, during the multi- event NANOTEXNOLOGY 2019. Partners but also new members of this special network gathered and discussed the activities and development of communication and collaboration between research and business organizations activated in the fields of Nano-Bio-Technologies.
According to the announced agenda, a short presentation of achievements within Nano|Net (Founded Projects, Master & PhD students’ mobility, Co-organization of International Conferences, Coordination of Innovation Actions in the frame of N&N) was given from Prof.S.Logothetidis as well the announcement of the recent amount of NanoNet members that reaches 600 entities. Furthermore, general discussion on the promotion of new collaborations with other R&I Organizations, the participation in International Networks and R&I Projects, funding & Cooperation opportunities in R&I Projects, commercialization & Industrialization opportunities and growth of Nano|Net society with new members took place.
Exceptional academic worldwide members presented their ideas in order to establish a specific communication policy but also an activity policy that will provide meaningful existence to the network. Participation in conferences, exhibitions, organization of events, training activities, exchanging students and webinars were some of the members’ suggestions. With the scope to create a stable structure for the best organization and planning of these activities, members concluded on the structures of International Advisory & Executive Board, both Geographically & Thematically.
