Specialist in thin films processes, in-situ and real-time monitoring with optical techniques and in optical properties using Ellipsometric techniques from IR to UV range. She is experienced in the modelling of the optical properties of metallic / semi conducting / insulating bulk materials and the optics in thin films, displays and PV devices.

Head of the Organic Electronics Group of Nanotechnology Lab LTFN & Center of Organic and Printed Electronics

Specialist in the fabrication of flexible organic electronics nanomaterials (organic semiconductors, transparent electrodes, barriers for encapsulation, flexible substrates) and devices (e.g. organic photovoltaics, organic thin film transistors) by vacuum and printing methods. Also he is expert in optical metrology of inorganic, organic and hybrid nanostructured materials by IR-Vis-fUV Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, and Raman Spectroscopy as well as on the computational modelling of optical properties of inorganic-organic-hybrid thin films.
His work includes more than 56 peer-reviewed publications in International Scientific Journals, 3 book chapters, more than 70 presentations in International Scientific Conferences, and since 1998 he has particiapted in more than 14 EU funded R&D projects. Finally, for the past 9 years he is responsible for the organization of the International Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics (ISFOE).

His research focuses on several PVD (HIPIMS, RF & DC Sputtering, e-beam & thermal evaporation) and Laser processes for the fabrication of protective nanonostructured thin films, 2D materials and nanoparticles for application in plasmonics, nanoelectronics and energy harvesting. He is also a specialist in surface (Scanning Probe Microscopy) and nanomechanical characterization of nanomaterials, biomaterials and devices.

Specialist in probing the properties of condensed matter using X-ray scattering techniques: X-ray Reflectivity, X-ray Diffraction and X-Ray Diffused Scattering. Specialist in probing surface properties of soft materials such as polymers using Atomic Force Microscopy techniques.
